Mark Jennings to seek re-election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mark Jennings to seek re-election for Wyoming State Representative in House District 30Vows to continue to uphold his promise to decrease state spending, protect individual rights and defend the Constitution

Sheridan, Wyoming (April 11, 2016) Rep. Jennings:

I am honored and humbled that the people of House District 30 allowed me to represent them these past two years and I am asking them for that honor again. When I came into office, Wyoming was already seeing a downturn in the economy and due to policies that have been implemented in our state, we are facing an even greater crisis. The destruction of our energy sector and the loss of related jobs is a disaster and should be fought against to the best of our abilities.
While the landscape of the Wyoming economy has changed, the platforms I ran on last election have not. I still believe that our government should be smaller, more efficient, and live within its means (just as we as individuals have to do). I am strongly against a state income tax; a tax I voted against twice in Revenue Committee this past year. While an income tax was successfully defeated, it will be presented again to the Revenue Committee during the interim session. Families in Wyoming do not need an additional tax burden!
Additionally, I continue to believe in a strong family unit and remain in support of traditional marriage, as well as the protection of life. Wyoming is a strong state with so much potential. With less governmental regulation, and more of the rugged individualism that makes for great competition, our economy can grow.
Lastly, I am very strongly pro-second amendment. I believe that people ought to be able to protect themselves whether they are at home or on the job. Our world is becoming increasingly violent from a lot of foes and we need to be pro-active in our safety and the safety of our families. If re-elected, I will continue to uphold my promise to Wyoming citizens to decrease spending, stand for individual rights, and work to keep our constitutional liberties.
